This command is used to calculate a keyed hash. It is a concatenation of the passphrase, the server’s public key and the t-key. If the result is invalid, it will return an error to the client.
The passphrase may be entered as anything you like, including an empty string or 0, and it does not have to be at least 8 characters long.
BUGS:
The hex dump display format is not very robust, as it will sometimes chop off the end of a hex dump, particularly if the client sent a long hex dump (i.e. with the ‘h’ flag).
The automatic resizing of the debug window is not good if the output is long.
Some of the temporary display elements that are created are not persistent, they get deleted when the window is closed. The memory leak is fixed in the 1.8.9 version (thanks to xmark).
Issues resolved in version 1.8.9:
$msk now has a minimum size requirement of 8.
$msk is no longer a “literal” value, but a reference to a hash. This prevents temporary windows being accidentally destroyed, and also prevents accidental overwriting of the original value.

Bug in the sendmsg() function fixed.
New subcommand logging command added.
New subcommand debug command added.
Command output now goes through the HTML and XHTML “stricter” parsers, so it can be shown in web pages.

Which is used depends on your needs.
