This is a command-line SoundFont decompiler (Decompile). It will decompile an SF2 file or read the contents of the “.sf2” file in the current working folder. There are following switches:

What’s New In SF2Comp?
For those of us who don’t need any functionality besides generation and decompilation functionality, this is a simple soundfont decompiler program. Command line switches are not required. All the other switches are optional and each of them can have any name as it would be no matter how does the switch looks like.
It was firstly developed for my own private needs but I now decided to share it with the soundfont community. So I dropped some unnecessary features like creating separate waveforms from one instrument (at the moment it cannot check for the multiple sounds) and replacing instruments in current preset with some new one.
So this program works with SF2, SF1, FXS and VST2 (and probably more) formats. It saves the “default-value” generators found for each layer and zone, so it can still be used to recompile missing layers and/or zones.

When the SF2 file you want to decompile was created, it was most likely done with the SF2Comp application installed. This application will ask if you want to decompile this file as a preset or as a Layer/Zone.
The user interface has been designed to make it as simple as possible. There is only one main window which show switches and not too much buttons. Only when you want to make some settings these buttons will appear (there are only two: “compile” and “decompile”).
The main window consists of a list with some switches. These switch are toggles and if you would want to change something, it is recommended to turn them on.
When you turn switches on it will show a small dialog with values that were detected.
You can press “compile” button at any moment and there is no need to wait for the end of the process.
When you press “decompile” button at any moment, it will show the dialog which wait a user action. But when user presses OK it will proceed to decompiling and closing the application. It is recommended to wait for the process end before you press “decompile”.
When you press “compile” or “decompile” button, the instrument list will be cleared and the list will be initialized again.
