FINAL VERDICT: Elden Ring is a beautifully crafted RPG game that is one of the few fans of the Shinigami world who want to catch up on all the latest updates in the series want to do.

The game employs a unique system to have the player not only catch up on all the world-building and reveal, but in their quest to reach the Elden Lord, the player will be experiencing the first Shinigami story in almost a decade. While there were bigger issues with all of the connections and what was left unfinished, it still feels as if almost the last fans of the Shinigami world were allowed to enter the Shinigami World. In fact, it’s the first Shinigami game, much less a remake, where they changed the title from Zero no Tsukaima -InFamous- to Elden Ring. While the game’s engine is still based on the same engine as the previous games, it would be hard to say if the production staff are still as much an aknowledged Falcom. In terms of how the game incorporates the Shinigami World, I’m not sure if this game will be accepted as much. While it does have touches of the Shinigami world, it will be a shame if they don’t take their time to truly develop the world and incorporate it into the gameplay in the future. Hopefully they will be even more aknowledged in the future. The graphics is stunning and something I’ve never seen before in a Falcom game. For the most part, the world is fully three-dimensional. There is an abundance of terrain and to be honest, I wanted to go in and explore it more. It’s perhaps not as vast in it’s own right as Tenchu or the other Falcom D&D games, but it’s still beautiful and definitely has a unique feel to it. While the story may be starting off a little slower than those other games, it has a flow and a sense of pacing that is perfect for the fantasy RPG genre. Even with the variety of weapons, there’s a sense of progression and there’s so much more to find. I especially appreciated the variety of the weapons, which ranged from swords to a few
