I’m preparing a local server to be used as an internal gateway. It’ll be deployed behind NAT.
The main WAP is setup to use the following IP address and port : my-wap.internal.mydomain.com:80
When accessing the server (using a browser) on my local network, I can connect to the WAP.
I then access the rest of the internet on a remote LAN by browsing to my-wap.internal.mydomain.com.
This all works fine.
But the problem is, if I make a request to my server (or a folder on my server), it’s redirected to my external IP address and port.
e.g: my-wap.internal.mydomain.com/foo.cgi?user=baz
The service / foo.cgi on the WAP is listening on port 80, in another binding in the httpd.conf.
The server however is listening on the external address and port, so it accepts the request and sends a redirect to my-wap.internal.mydomain.com:80 which the browser then connects to.
It’s like i’m using the internal IP address as if it were my external one.
Any idea why it does that? Is there something I’m missing?
Also, is there a way to make the WAP listen to the internal address?
