▶ Story:
After an extraordinary war between the
original humans and the titans, the two realms were
brought together in the Lands Between, so that all
people can reside in peace. The peaceful order was
broken, however, as some humans developed the
ability to enter the Lands Between without being
slain by the titans. In the year 302 A.C., a group of
humans in the Lands Between was slaughtered, and
the humans of the two realms have been in a state
of war ever since.
▶ World:
The world of the Elden Ring begins with a dark,
gothic scene, in which an unknown force attacks the
world. After defeating the first enemy, the
titan, and discovering the source of the attack,
the gothic scene is replaced with a snowy and
pristine landscape. After that, the game begins in
the Lands Between, and within it, a confusing
‘world’ and ‘realm’ are formed by the elements of
the four battles. This is the real world of Tarnished
and Elden.

The rulers of the Northern countries, the Elves, had long forgotten the Lands Between and left it to the Ice Folk and the dark dwellers of the Forest to worship their strange and terrible gods. And so, the cold-blooded Frost Elves took control of the Frost and ruled it with a decadent and cruel tyranny. The last of the elves was eventually killed in a raid of the Frost Elves and the Frost capital was sacked and burned to the ground.
The Elves, who were worshipped as gods, retreated deep into the Frost and lived like sybarites, living in luxury and feasting on the sufferings of their own. As a result, they slowly degenerated and degraded into the vile and barbaric Elves that one sees in the Fields of Fallen Giants today.
In that time, the Trolls and the Gnomes had also expanded their territories, and great battles took place between them. But they were not fought with swords and other weapons, but with magic and monstrous monsters.
To the east of the Lands Between lies the lands of the Dwarves. The Dwarves are an old folk who were one of the first settlers to fill the empty lands. It was in these lands that the Dwarves first discovered the wealth of their lands. Their magic slowly changed the land to a swampy flatland. This was known as the Land of Rise.
In this time, the Dwarves were attacked by hordes of Trolls, who overran the Land of Rise and laid the land to waste. From this cursed land, a silent, evil fire started to burn through the countryside. At first, they found a way to put out the fire, but they were caught off guard by the sudden and spectacular evolution of the flames. Within a few years, the land completely transformed. The flowers of the garden that once adorned the land were all burned to ashes and the air seemed completely devoid of oxygen.
The Dwarves found themselves at the mercy of the fire and were unable to move.
