Import Images from Flickr

Photoshop’s Mac natively supports importing images from Flickr. This import feature works in much the same way as doing it in the browser.

Here’s how it works:

1. Go to the Photoshop menu’s File menu and choose Photoshop→File.
2. In the Create dialog box, click the Browse button at the top right.
3. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the folder that contains the images you want to import. You can use the same URL and directory hierarchy as you use for uploading images to Flickr via the web, or you can select a different location depending on your needs.

4. In the Library panel, choose the images that you want to import.

5. Press the Return button to create the images in the area where you selected them.

This software allows you to edit RAW images by using the Raw Converter, as well as apply popular graphic effects including filters, blend modes and more.

Before you get started editing images, it is important to first understand Photoshop’s basic functions. The following sections should help you get started using Photoshop.

If you are already familiar with the basics, continue to the next section to start editing images.

Understanding Photoshop’s Basic Functions

Despite its wide range of advanced features, the interface of Photoshop allows you to edit photos and create graphics as if you were working with basic tools.

Tools: What Tools do I Need to Use?

When you open a new file in Photoshop, you are automatically in the Tool panel. You can switch the Tool panel to view other tools, including the Basic panel.

Choose the tool that you would like to use.

The Image Editing Tool is used for image editing tasks. It includes most editing functions, as well as the standard crop and rotate functions. It also includes some tools to add dimensions to images, correct perspective, and resize images.

The Layers panel is only visible if you are using a photo or a layer. You can toggle it on and off, to hide or show all the Layer panels.

The Basic panel is the most basic panel, and cannot be used to edit a photo. It includes the standard tools for creating graphics, such as the Rectangle and Ellipse tools.

The Brush panel includes tools that control the appearance of graphic elements such as the Brush tool and Pencil tool.

The History panel is used to display the changes made to the file and to undo them.

You can also create particles that look like something is “exploding,” simply by using the Blur Tool.

You can overlay multiple images on top of each other by using the Rectangular Select Tool. Just drag your cursor across a selection, and one at a time, the corresponding portion of the image will be copied to the new area.

You can also selectively erase pixels from a selected area by using the eraser tool.

You can work with adjustment layers to tweak the colors of a photo. Apply curves to the image and it will adjust the colors to make them more even.

Images can also be resized or cropped in many different ways. You can also create a grid over an image, crop it, and move the edges around to change the visual size of the image.
