This article shows you how to create and use menu shortcuts in Windows Vista. First you create a menu shortcut, then you create menu items. You can link these menu items to access some or all of the functionality of the original application and menu. You can also add text to the menu shortcut that will appear in the status bar. The Menu Shortcut
The control you use to create a shortcut to your application is the main shortcut. This item appears within the Navigation Pane, as well as on the Start menu. Using the main shortcut for a specific application is not the same as creating a group shortcut.
